Ang Dating Daan members clamor for own religious holiday

Members of religious organization Ang Dating Daan are demanding President Benigno Aquino III to give them their own religious holiday.

In a press conference earlier today, July 20, members of ADD wanted to have a non-working holiday that honors them as a religion.

This is in response to President Benigno Aquino III's approval of Joint Resolution No. 2 declaring July 27 as a special non-working holiday to commemorate Iglesia ni Cristo's centennial.

"Ba't sila meron? Gusto ko kami rin! May bias ka ata PNoy?" said the ADD spokesperson.

Earlier this month, the President also declared the year 2014 as the Iglesia ni Kristo Centennial Year.

Currently, Ang Dating Daan has more than 5,000 locale congregations divided into 100 church districts in the Philippines as well as in more than 100 countries.

In contrast, the INC is the largest local Christian Church in the Philippines.

The two religious groups have always been at conflict with each other, with INC launching its own program, Ang Tamang Daan, in response to ADD.
