DotA Creator speaks on Ban: "That's f*cking stupid!" - IceFrog

"That ordinance is full of sh*t. It's f*cking stupid. I don't even know what they hope to achieve with banning my game," he posted in his blog, January 22.
This was following a barangay in Dasmariñas City issuing a resolution banning DotA in computer shopes.
According to Resolution 008-2015 issued by the Barangay Council of Salawag, DotA has been the cause of violence, and even murder within their youth.
Computer shops caught violating the resolution would face penalties. One month suspension is designated for first offense; revocation of business permit for second offense; and permanent closure of the business for third offense.
"DotA is bad influence? I think the people there, the parents in that community are the bad influence. Bad parenting is the root cause of this. Not the game."
He added that the barangay doesn't do it out of love, but out of stupidity in figuring out what really is the cause.
"You say that the game forces students to cut classes, neglect studies or say profane words. Ban it during class hours then!"
When asked if he knows that the Philippines is known for issuing "persona non grata" titles to offending foreign citizens, he said "I offend you? Go ahead and declare me persona non grata. I'll sue you for being idiots. Your stupidity is offensive."

You say it is stupid? of course it is. it's a third world country. the question is does it help? does it do something? does it prevent the killings.. it's not the best solution but if it's good enough.. at least it's something right? do we have a fast way to solve bad parenting? in the next generation of parents perhaps. let's just deal with what we have for now.

ReplyDeleteThis is soo funny on so many occasion, yes i`m filipino and im proud of my country and im just not proud of the retards living here. Corruption has spread even through the streets and the police. This stupid decision of theirs is quiet selfish and stupid mainly the parents should teach their kids proper manner, though even if its taught if you neglect your kids and do something different like addicting hobbies, lets just say adults here sometimes neglect their kids and play ''bingo'' all day all night. For banning a game that only gives you satisfaction and improving your decision making by two fold is the most stupid thing i have ever heard. first of all lets talk about the parents, 100% of those parents that said that ''those games'' are the one at fault, clearly they lack the intelligent on guiding their children in the right way so cost the violence, second its not the kids fault.... well lets say its both of their faults implying to the kid and the parent, kids should know proper manners and should be respectful. Parents should teach this things to avoid VIOLENCE. If not, any kid without any common sense or manners would surely go to trouble. So comes the point of neglect, if parents do this, yeah kids will have to find another source of attention may it be good or bad. thirdly and the most simple of the bunch, the majority of the people their is not that rich, so basically kids would time to time request for money from their parents. lastly, Death of few, students mostly. WHY BAN THE DAMN GAME?! It is the out most stupidity to blame the game, simply on deaths, why not blame the kids action which also leads to bad parenting.
