Department of Tourism Admits "It's No Longer Fun in the Philippines"

MAKATI CITY, Philippines — The Department of Tourism changed the tourism slogan of the Philippines to "Experience Philippines" after admitting it's no longer fun in the country, yesterday, June 8.

The DOT's previous slogan was the catchy "It's More Fun in the Philippines" which featured iconic landmarks of the country.

The Department said "Obviously, it's no longer fun in the Philippines."



Last year, incoming secretary Wanda Teo wanted to retain the slogan, but she revealed in an interview that it will not be the case.

According to the press release by the department, the change in slogan will coincide with the "Change is Coming" platform of the Duterte administration.

"We wanted to make a slogan that reflects the current sociopolitical climate in the Philippines, which of course reflects our tourism marketability," said the press release.

According to the department, they are currently experimenting on how the slogan will be used. Ideas on the board includes "Experience EJK", "Experience Racism, and "Experience Martial Law".

The Department of Tourism will launch the new slogan on June 12, Independence Day. — The Filipino Garlic.
